Legislative Update for week of February 6th -10th

Weekly Legislative Update for week ending  February 10th  ,

Bob presented testimony to House HHS on HB 321, a commission to study public option for health insurance. Requested that an APRN be added to the commission.

The House HHS Committee voted to recommend an amendment to HB 208, the bill to study involuntary commitments. The amendment includes the language we suggested adding an APRN to the Commission. This will be on the House floor Wednesday. The amendment is below:

The same committee voted to recommend that HB 602 be killed (that bill was going to look at the Secure Psychiatric Unit. The Committee felt (and the HB 602 sponsor agreed) that HB 208 takes care of this. 

Finally, House HHS also voted to add an APRN to the Commission established by HB 264, the bill to establish a commission to look at oral contraceptives. That bill is on the floor this week also.
