New Hampshire Nurse Practitioner Association
Empowering Nurse Practitioners as Leaders in Healthcare

Legislative Update 5/25/18

Posted about 1 year ago by Jennifer Thompson

This week, the House and Senate completed their work for the 2018 session (aside from one more session day to be held at a future undetermined date to vote on gubernatorial vetoes). On Wednesday, the House and Senate met to vote on Committee of Conference reports, including the Committee of Conference report on SB 473, the bill supported by NHNPA to prohibit health care employers from placing non-compete provisions in contracts with (among others) nurse practitioners. The House and Senate both agreed to the House version of the bill, which covers nurses and podiatrists. As we reported earlier, the House had decided not to pass a bill of general applicability (as originally proposed in the Senate) because only nurse practitioners and podiatrists came to the Committee to speak in favor of the bill. The bill now goes to the Governor.
